ნოდარ შოშიაშვილის ქართული წარწერების კორპუსის მიხედვით # 70. ივ. ჯავახიშვილის აზრით, წარწერა VI საუკუნის ბოლოს არის ამოკვეთილი. მისივე აზრით, წარწერის სიძველის დასტური პალეოგრაფიული თვალსაზრისით არის Ⴣ გრაფემის თავშეკრულობა. ამ წარწერაში ყურადღებას იპყრობს „მეოხ ხეყავ“ - ხანმეტი ფორმა. ივ. ჯავახიშვილის მიხედვით, ეკლესიის ნამდვილი აღმშენებელნი სტეფანოზ ქართლისა პატრიკიოსი და დემეტრე ჳპატოსი ძმები ყოფილან (მოქცევაჲ ქართლისაჲ II, 724). ჳპატოსობის მიღება მას მხოლოდ ბიზანტიის კეისრისგან შეეძლო იმ დროს, როდესაც აღმოსავლეთ საქართველო ბიზანტიის მეფის მფარველობის ქვეშ მოექცა, ე.ი. 591-604 წწ. შუა. აქედან გამომდინარე ეს წარწერები დაახლოებით იმავე ხანას, VI ს-ის უკანასკნელ ათეულს უნდა ეკუთნოდეს.
According to the Corpus of Georgian Inscriptions by Nodar Shoshiashvili the inscription #70. Iv. Javakhishvili believes that the inscription can be dated to the end of the VI century. He specifies that the paleographic data proves the early origins of the inscription: the head of the grapheme Ⴣ is closed. Case of “khanmeti” ხანმეტი in the words „მეოხ ხეყავ“ is noticeable. Iv.Javakhishvili believes that the builders of the church: Stephen the Patrikios of Kartli and Demetrius Hypatos are brothers (source: Conversion of Kartli (chronicle) II, 724). Demetrius Hypatos should have received the rank of Hypatos during the period when the east part of Georgia was under the domain of the King of Byzantium, i.e. 591-604 years. Thus, the inscriptions should belong to the same period of the last decades of the VI century.
