წარწერა 3 სტრიქონიანია. ქვის ზედა ნაწილში გამოქანდაკებულია რელიეფური, სადა სახის „ბოლნური ჯვარი“. ჩასმულია პატარა სამკუთხედებისაგან შემდგარ მედალიონში. ჯვრის მკლავები ორმაგი კონტურითაა ამოჭრილი. ჯვრის ზემოთ, ფილის მარჯვენა კუთხეში ამოკვეთილია წარწერა. · Three line inscription. The simple figure of “Bolnisi Cross” is embossed on the upper part of the stone. The cross is embedded in a medallion shaped with small triangles. The crossbars are engraved with double contours. The inscription is carved on top of the cross on the upper right side of the plaque.

ძეგლი აღმოჩენილია ივანე ჯავახიშვილის სახელობის ისტორიის ინსტიტუტის არქეოლოგიური ექსპედიციის მიერ, რომელსაც ი. გრძელიშვილი ხელმძღვანელობდა. ბოლნისის სიონიდან ჩრდილო-დასავლეთით, დაახლოებით 800 მეტრის დაშორებით მდებარეობს ბორცვი, რომელსაც ადგილობრივი მოსახლეობა „ლამაზ გორას“ უწოდებს. სწორედ ამ გორაზე ჩაატარა ექსპედიციამ გათხრები და შუა ადგილას გამოავლინა სამეკლესიანი ბაზილიკის ნანგრევები. ვარაუდობენ, რომ ეს იყო სამონასტრო კომპლექსი, რომელსაც ეჭირა 1000 კვ.მ. ფართობი. ამ ტერიტორიაზე აღმოჩნდა ათეული ქვაჯვარი ასომთავრული წარწერებით. ძეგლი იპოვეს 1959 წელს. · The monument was discovered by the archeological expedition of Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History supervised by I. Grdzelishvili. The hill that the locals call “Lamazi Gora” (a beautiful hill) is located 800 meters from Bolnisi Sioni Cathedral to the north-west. During the excavations of the hill the ruins of three-church basilica was found in the middle of it. The territory of the monastery could have been 1000 sq m. Up to ten stone crosses with Asomtavruli inscriptions were found in this territory. The monument was discovered in 1959.
