Translation
In the name of the god and with the blessing of Grigol, I Theodore, Bishop of Bolnisi built this holy church with the aid of Gurgen Eristavi, God, have mercy on me.
Commentary
According to the Corpus of Georgian Inscriptions by Nodar Shoshiashvili the inscription #137. The inscription does not contain any mark of separation. No spaces between the words. Abbreviation mark: long straight horizontal line. Levan Muskhelishvili considers that the content of the inscription does not suit the style of an epitaph. According to the paleographic data the inscription is dated to X century.
